#169 Easy meets West

#169 East Meets West pattern  - Our mandarin collar on this fitted princess seamed jacket is a classic style that never ages .  The fabric we used is our wool felts , so that means we did not hem the at the wrists or the hem .  It does not come in prints so using our Catch and Release liquid  we brushed it on with a foam brush and stencil , once it dries you steam iron out the green color and the butter yellow was underneath . Note : always test the fabric to see what is under there , if it is not a color pleasing to you don't worry , you can mix a 50/50 blend of catch and release and fabric paint of your color choice , and follow same instructions then when you steam iron out the dye , it will replace it with the paint color .

The closures on this jacket are made from white pleather  trimmed with wool felt strips that gives them a zipper look , large hook and eyes at the ends  and on the jacket to close it , large snaps to close jacket down the front NOTE:  if you want to use zippers instead that works nicely just remember to use zippers that are comparable to the depth of the fabric , no heavy metal teeth for cotton or silks .

Finally covered buttons on the shoulders at the end of the pleather strips .   Wool felts are easy to work with , but is not the only fabric to make this jacket from , we have made it with denim fabrics , silks and cotton .
